Color Club Portfolio

Color Club Portfolio is a recent acquisition from Bed, Bath and Beyond (!).  It is a lovely dusty midtone purple with a seafoam green shimmer duochrome effect (with mauve at extreme angles) that is just beautiful.  Application was good - nice consistency, very little streaking, and built nicely in opacity, but the brush could have been better.  I used 3 coats here, with Poshe as a TC, and wear was very good.  I really like the finish on this one - the shimmer is more visible in the sun, but is so brilliant it basically washes away the duochrome effect.  It actually looks better in indirect lighting where the duochrome is easier to appreciate.  It's definitely unique (to me) and I'm glad to have it!  Enjoy -     >^..^<

Nicole Plum to Your Senses

Nicole Plum to Your Senses is one I picked up fairly recently, though it's been sitting for a while.  :)   It is a very purple color, though it looks very blue in my pics - my camera seems to have issues with blues, unfortunately, despite white balance adjustments, so just imagine it looking more purple.  Plus the sun wasn't out today so the beautiful pink sparkles in it didn't show up at all.  I was debating whether or not to post these pics at all, as I'm really not happy with theml.  Anyway - application was ok at best - the brush was too flat at the end so it was hard to control at the cuticle line, and it was a bit moppy - the polish itself was slightly thick, left a little cuticle drag, but didn't streak too much and was completely opaque in just 2 coats.  I used a coat of Gelous before Poshe here to enhance the sparkles a bit, which I think would have been more visible in bright sunlight.  I'm not sure I love this one though, as it is a brighter midtone purple, and it just isn't my favorite finish - it looked darker in the bottle, which is what I was hoping for.  Enjoy -     >^..^<

ChG Snap My Dragon

ChG Snap My Dragon is from the Avant Garden collection that came out this spring.  It's a lovely pinky red shimmer that went on like a dream!  Application was good, as with most ChG - nice consistency, easy to control, no streaking or dragging, and built nicely in opacity.  It isn't the most unique color, but it's right up my alley, and I'm really enjoying this one today!       >^..^<

Julie G Rock Candy

Julie G Rock Candy is part of the Gumdrops texture collection that cam out this spring.  It is a light mint, almost seafoam, green foil base with silver glitter.  Application was good - I'm impressed with this brand - nice consistency, easy to control, no streaking, built nicely in opacity, and dried quickly.  This one isn't like the Zoya Pixie dusts or even like the Hot Cinnamon (Magazine Cover Mouse dupe) from this same collection - those are matte finish with very small but very shiny sparkles in them - this is a foil finish with larger pieces of hexagonal silver glitter.  Is it textured?  Yes, but not in the same sense as the Pixie Dusts.  To my eye this isn't very unique - but it is pretty!  Enjoy -     >^..^<
