Zoya Payton

Zoya Payton is a dark purple jelly with small holographic shards.  It isn't what I would call a holo though at all - the holo effect wasn't very obvious to me, as it looked more like a speckled dark purple.  It's pretty, but I guess I'm not appreciating what all the hype over this one is.  Application was ok - I got some cuticle drag, the formula was a bit thick, and it wasn't that easy to keep under control.  All of which is unusual for Zoya's for me.  I'm not sure I will keep this one - it just didn't do anything for me.  >^..^<

OPI Red Hot Ayers Rock

OPI Red Hot Ayers Rock is a coral-toned light bright red creme from the Spring 2007 Australia collection.  Application was very good - nice smooth creamy formula with a slightly crelly consistency, so although there was no streaking or cuticle drag I could still see a little vnl after 3 coats.  It's a great color for spring and summer, and really brightened up this dreary February day too!  Enjoy -     >^..^<

OPI Bastille My Heart

OPI Bastille My Heart is one of my all time favorite polishes.  I actually have a sizeable dent in this bottle, and a backup in the wings.  It's from the Fall 2008 France collection, which was, in my opinion, an iconic collection - SO many good colors from it!  Bastille is a wonderfully glowy cool red shimmer with a jelly squishiness, the base color of which looks different in different lighting.  In direct sun it is more of a midtone bright red, and in indirect light it "goes dark" with a slightly more vampy feel (I've noticed several reds over the years that do this - Malaga Wine comes to mind immediately).  Application was wonderful - nice formula, no streaking, built nicely in opacity, and was easy to control.  I adore this one - it's one of the best reds OPI has ever put out, so if you don't have this one, and like reds, I highly recommend picking this up!  Enjoy -      >^..^<

Fingerpaints Piece de Resistance

FP Piece de Resistance is a new core color.  It is a stunning dark cool red shimmer with darkened edges.  Application was ok - the new brush was a bit thick and a few bristles were splayed, but the formula of the polish itself was nice - minimal streaking and cuticle drag, and built nicely in opacity.  The shimmer is beautiful - it has a Clarins 230 / Pure Ice Heartbreaker - ish type of microscopic but intense glittery reflection, if that makes sense.  I really like this polish - the color is just so beautiful and has a great depth, with spectacular sparkle - what's not to love?  Enjoy -     >^..^<

FP Rockin' Renaissance

FP Rockin' Renaissance is a new core color in the Sally house brand.  It is a textured polish, like the Liquid Sands and Pixie Dusts, although nowhere does it say that on the bottle!  It is a beautiful taupe / milk chocolate base with gold shimmer, which combines to look like a rose gold / bronzey tone.  Application was fine - the formula is nice, but I don't like the new brush.  I used 2 coats here and it was totally opaque and streak free.  I did not use a topcoat, and it dried in a timely manner.  I'm liking this one - enjoy!     >^..^<

Precision (unknown name)

Precision (unknown name) is a color I've had in my collection for years.  It is a lovely raspberry pink with a silver shimmer.  Application was good - nice formula, easy to control, minimal streaking, but it did take 3 coats to reach an opacity I was happy with as it has a slightly crelly finish to it.  The shimmer is more subtle on the nail than in the bottle, giving it a satiny, slightly pearly glow.  This isn't a well known brand, but it is out there, and I like all the colors I've tried from them, and I think they're worth taking a chance on if you find them!  Enjoy -     >^..^<

OPI OPI Scores a Goal!

OPI OPI Scores a Goal! is from the new Brazil collection for spring 2014.  It has been described as a raisin color - and I guess that's accurate - it's a milk chocolate creme with purple undertones.  Application was good - the formula was nice and creamy, easy to control, minimal streaking, and built nicely in opacity (I used 2 coats here).  I like the color - it's a little unusual, a step off the normal greige / grey / brown.  Enjoy -     >^..^<
