Essie Rock the Boat is from the new Summer 2013 collection. It is a light, slightly dusty, cornflower blue with small glass-fleck type particles. It has a semi jelly consistency, allowing the flecks to show, most prominently in direct light of course, but they give an interesting texture in indirect / low light. Application was a bit of a pain - the formula was quite streaky, leading to cuticle drag and irregular stripes down the nail bed even with thin application. I used 4 coats here for opacity and to even out the streakiness, followed by Poshe. Overall it's a very pretty color, not quite as bright as Zoya Blu, as the dustiness softens it a bit. Unfortunately the sun wasn't out today, so the sparkles didn't show up well, and the color balance isn't quite right even with much messing around to correct it. It is more grey and soft in real life as compared to the brightness you see here. Enjoy! >^..^<
I love a pretty light blue! This is so perfect!
